Description:
This is a two-part class administered over two consecutive days; class will be two hours each day. The US Government is a major internet content provider. In this class, participants will learn where to find which types of information, some of which are publications, databases and statistics that are only found online.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this class, participants will be able to:
- Relate government departments and subdivisions to relevant materials.
- Use online reference sources to find statistics and updated information.
- Gather government information for both reference and advocacy purposes.
- Discuss the things that new government documents librarians need to know.

Intended Audience:
Library staff who use government information to assist patrons with e-government tasks on the internet, teach information literacy classes dealing with scientific or social topics, or who answer reference questions.
